Powerless

I am powerless over things too numerous to mention.  Grasping this idea takes years, accepting it takes a lifetime. Today it is impossible.  How did we get here?  Easy we were not paying attention.

Events reiterated in a swirl of  way too much " breaking news" and way too little substantive information hummed in the backgound while we fixed dinner, read our mail and took a nap.  The nation has been napping and we are now awakening to a jarring reality.

We ae so fucked. The government will charge you with the failure of their newly acquired lending institutions, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  (CEO's left with huge bonus packages).  Three of the top lending institutions have just gone belly up or been bought out, the Company that assures that they will not fail AIG is in danger of failing, we are 50 days or so from electing power expected to drag our butts thru this mud and a review of financial predictions of a year ago hint at even more sinister happenings.

Do you understand that we are now in a position that could legally allow George Bush to declare Martial Law and take over all aspects of government?  Nope ...that never crossed your mind.  Right?   Well here is some sobering information.
